Alternate Wood Choice - Butternut

Main Salon Blackwatch (ex-Edlu II, ex-Tabor Boy), Design 218

Butternut (juglans cinerea), is actually a nickname for white walnut, a member of the black walnut (juglans nigra) family. It's a great wood for boat joinery as it is very stable and resists cracking. In addition it's beautiful with rich grains of honey with red highlights. It's also a fairly easy wood to work with and more affordable than alternate woods.

Someone sent me the above photograph. I can tell immediately that it was taken by either Billy Black or Onne van der Wal, as it is clearly a professional shot: lights on, table set, flowers on the table, cloudy day outside...so whoever took this shot I apologize, but nice photo.
