Design 2527 - Encore

This 73' IMS racing yacht was built in 1987 by Dereckor Shipyards of aluminum. She was designed with an interior that could be converted from "Racer/Cruiser" mode to pure "Racer".

General Arrangement Plan

This is the first drawing I ever made for Sparkman & Stephens (below).

Deck Plan & Outboard Profile

The boat has had a successful racing career including by winning the Annapolis-Newport Race, Marblehead-Halifax, Antigua Race Week, and the Mohegan Race during her inaugural season. The following year she placed second in the Newport-Bermuda Race and in 1993, was the overall winner of the prestigious Fastnet Race.

  1. I believe she has been the subject of much speculation the last few days on the IBNA feed on Facebook. Picture of her in the islands with a Brazilian flag.
