Design 2748 - 82' Pilothouse Cruising Yacht

This 82’ pilothouse cruising yacht is currently on the boards. The master stateroom is full beam and forward of the mast with ensuite head. There are twin quarter cabins aft each with private heads, dedicated nav station and open floor plan galley and salon. Crew accommodations are for two. The pilothouse includes a dining settee and inside steering station. There is a generous social cockpit for entertaining.

  2. Dear Reader,

Thank you for your comment. We don't quite see it but I suppose any pilothouse boat of this size could be compared to Fontaine's work.

In fact we had a client who wished to have a pilothouse design without the normal (S&S) center level of the superstructure. I will draw your attention to our posting of Thursday, August 12: Burger Boat Motorsailer Series. If you focus on the 90' design and in your mind's eye remove the central superstructure portion, placing the smaller upper wheelhouse directly on the lower part of the deckhouse, don't you arrive essentially at the same look?

The biggest difference would of course be the hull shape. I am fairly certain ted would have a lot of tumble-home at the transom resulting in a near oval transom shape viewed from astern.

This plus the the underwater shape and appendages would undoubtedly be very different than our own.

    Regards,
    Sparkman & Stephens
