Sailing Yacht Venturosa - Design 2529

This fairly modern looking ketch was styled by Glade Johnson. Note she is devoid of any exterior woodwork for ease of maintenance. This boat was designed with a very specific brief that made clear that every single system onboard was to be backed up with a redundant system, including twin screws. Another interesting feature was the installation of retractable stabilizers, which fold against the hull in sailing mode.

Here are the plans.

Principal Dimensions
LOA 109'-6"
LWL 84'-0"
Beam 24'-6"
Draft 9'-8"

Was designed and built with a very fine teak deck, mind you.

  2. Defining "fine" a little further, the first surveyor steeped on deck, stopped, looked at the deck and stared and stared. then he said he had never seen a teak deck so well laid out with each board matched to its neighbor's grain. Well done Fred
