Design 1718 - Classic 37'

This 37' sloop was a refinement of design #1628, Nova (I will post a piece about this design at a later time). It seems this design was originally called the Walton 37', built by Grampian Marine, Ltd (follow this link for some history) of Ontario, Canada and marketed by George Walton of Annapolis, Maryland. At some point the name was changed. Apparently 30-40 boats were built to this design. The production run started in 1965.

The boats were built of fiberglass with lead ballast keel and all were Lloyd's approved. Here's an excerpt from the original brochure. Double click for bigger, readable view.

Here are the plans.

  1. I have a 1964 Yawl edition. I am looking for other owners. Please call Max at 904 864-7606.

  2. I have been admiring boats of this design for some time. What must I do to obtain high resolution versions of the plans? Thanks!

  3. I purchased one of these boats about a year ago and currently fitting her out. High resolution plans seem to be difficult to find.
