Cuban Patrol Boat - Design ?

This one is a mystery. The file says "Cuban Patrol Boat", yet there is no design number and no additional information. I beleive that's Rod Stephens sitting on the port side. Does anyone recognize the background?

  1. If I had to guess I'd say the location is off of Key West. This might be a boat designed for a government agency to run Cuban expatriates in and out of Cuba. The crews wore khakis and had a vaguely military look to them. The radar is a surface search set used on smaller boats such as rescue and research boats, most converted Miami design 63' boats left over from WW2.

Later Gulf of Mexico service boats similar to the US Navy Swift boats were used for the same purpose, or so I am told. None of these boats were armed except for (probably) small arms and one man weapons like a bazooka or small recoilless rifle.

Any idea when this picture was taken or any other time line?
