Design 97 - Babe

This boat of light displacement was designed in 1935. She is modern for her time in terms of long waterline length for her overall length and minimalist interior - she is an all out racing machine. Babe was constructed by Chute & Bixby of Huntington, Long Island.

Here are the plans.

Here's an article from Yachting magazine that tells the story. Double click for zoom.

A modern version of this boat has been developed in conjunction with Olin Stephens just prior to his death. More about that in a future posting.
