Design 1309 - Valencia

Image Courtesy of Mystic Seaport Museum

Valencia was built by Robert E. Derecktor of Mamaroneck, New York. She was launched in 1958. Construction is typical of the period: oak structure, double planked with mahogany over cedar and Everdur fasteners. The layout is slightly unusual for a boat of this size in that it includes quarters for a paid hand.

A sister was built as well at Derecktor, named Inverness.

Here are the plans.
