Design 2193 - Impala 41 Class

Here's another with no photographs on file, unfortunately. She must be quite a beauty. Impala was built by Cantiere Navale Castiglione of Italy on a production basis between 1973-1984. I have no idea how many were built. She is constructed of solid fiberglass laminate with multiple longitudinal foam hat-section stringers. This is the second boat designed for this shipyard by Sparkman & Stephens.

Here is the general arrangement plan.

Okay so I pinched this fairly low quality image off the Internet.

Principal Dimensions
LOA 41'-10"
LWL 31'-4"
Beam 12'-1"
Draft 6'-6"
Displacement 18,492 lbs
Ballast 9,610 lbs
Sail Area 779 sq ft

  1. This design went into production at Cantiere Navale 71 (located at Castiglione della Pescaia, Italy) a few years after in 1981, unfortunately only three Impala 41 were built, the boat was to expensive.
They were quite competitive under IOR, winning several races and local regattas.
I have better photos to be sent if required.

  2. Hi , do you know where are the three boats located?
    Best regards,
    Stefano S.
