Design 1866 - Chris Craft Cherokee 32

The Chris Craft Cherokee was introduced in 1966. Notice she is one design number apart from the Comanche 42, design #1866, and as such bears a distinct resemblance to the 42. The Cherokee was designed for family cruising and racing. 40 units were delivered during the production run which lasted until 1970.

  1. Similar to the Comanche 42, yes. A MUCH more distinct resemblance to the Apache 37. Keel/underbody shape is appears identical (albeit shorter).

  2. Very well behaved and good sailing boat. Her S&S design shows though as does her CCA manners. Christ Craft manufacturing leaves a bit to be desired. Put new full batten sails on her and she really goes.
