More on Design 1557 - Spirit Class

As a follow up to my posting of earlier today regarding design 1557-C3, here is Orpheus, hull number five of the series.  She was built of wood by American Marine of Hong Kong.  Her cabin trunk is specific to this hull.   1. In my opinion, a close-to-perfect boat. Compare her baolance, grace, and beauty to today's modern monstrosities with their excessive freeboard, snubbed ends, maldistributed volume, and such excresences as open transoms, twin wheels, "equipment arches", over abundance of electronics--even air conditioning and television. Anyone who would even consider television aboard a sailboat should be taken out and shot as a service to society and a favor to the deceased moron.

    I guess I'm just getting old. Too old. Well, the solution to that problem will come soon enough.
